Infographic: In fight with record number of strikes, Hendricks lands more in title fight

Americans Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler engaged in an epic battle at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, in the main event of UFC 171. For 25 minutes, the welterweights fought for the division's belt in a duel with a lot of striking and alternating control of the fight. At the end of 25 minutes, Hendricks prevailed by unanimous decision in a fight that broke the record for significant strikes landed.

Lawler, who rocked his rival in the third and fourth rounds, did not continue his attacks and missed a good opportunity to end the dispute. But throughout the fight, Johny was more effective and landed more blows, significant attacks and even managed two takedowns.
