Just over two months after the battle involving Kamaru Usman e Colby covington for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.), in December, at UFC 245, the decision of the fight referee, Marc Goddard, to declare the Nigerian a knockout over the North American, continues to have repercussions. The Ultimate professional also highlighted that a referee's actions must always take into account the athlete's physical integrity. At the time of the interruption, in the 5th round, Covington was at a disadvantage on the ground, receiving hard blows and just protecting his head, without responding to his rival's actions.
“One thing I always tell fighters, no matter who it is, is this: 'If you're hurt, if I think you're in any danger in the fight, I need you to do just one thing: show me that you're still it can continue,” he said.
Colby's criticism of Marc's performance began just hours after the UFC 245, through your social networks. Recently, the welterweight has been harshly criticizing Goddard in interviews and accusing the professional of acting in collusion with Usman in the main fight of the card.
