After Rafael Dos Anjos criticized Renato Moicano's coaches for not interrupting the fight, the former featherweight (up to 65,7kg) did not agree with the former lightweight champion's complaints. In an interview with 'TMZ Sports', the fighter from Brasilia said that he would not like the interruption of the fight and thanked referee Marc Goddard for letting the fight continue until the end.

“I'm very grateful that the referee didn't stop the fight because otherwise I wouldn't have known what I was made of. I always try to move forward, I always try to fight back, and for me, the referee did his job, it was a great job,” said Moicano.

Last minute replacement Raphael Fiziev, Moicano thanked him for the opportunity and stated that he would do it all again, if it were possible.

“Yes, of course, I don’t regret it. I knew I wasn't 100% for the fight because I was coming off a good training camp against (Alexander) Hernandez, but it went for three rounds and I submitted the guy. I flew straight to Brazil and was enjoying my vacation. You know, drink some beers, eat some steaks. But, the opportunity comes, and when an opportunity like this comes you have to try, and I was ready to beat it. His plan was better than mine”, concluded the fighter from Brasilia.
