Middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.) in Ultimate since 2019, Israel adesanya appears to be satisfied with confirmation of his fight against Alex Poatán No. UFC 281. Victim of the Brazilian star twice during his kickboxing days, the Nigerian celebrates the opportunity to take revenge on the São Paulo native in a clash under MMA rules. In an interview with ‘ESPN’, ‘Izzy’ spoke about the subject.

“After he (Poatan) defeated me in Brazil, I never had any plans of trying to get revenge, or anything like that. I don't get attached to things. I overcome them”, said the Ultimate champion.

Even without the previous need to redeem himself against Alex, Adesanya guarantees that an unprecedented fight under MMA rules was not a fixation in his career. The Nigerian, however, sees the opportunity as a ‘gift’.

“The universe gifted me with this. It's right there. I’m going to bust this b***h,” she signed off.
