Responsible for Drake's million-dollar loss, Alex Poatan provokes and advises rapper before rematch

About to defend the middleweight belt (under 83,9kg) for the first time in an immediate rematch against the former champion Israel adesanya, Alex Poatán is sharp on social media. The target of the Brazilian's latest provocation, however, was not his rival, but the rapper Drake.

Known for investing, and often losing, millionaire amounts in bets on UFC fights, the Canadian musician had a loss of more than R$10 million when he bet on the victory of Israel adesanya about Alex Poatán No. UFC 281, in October of last year.

For the rematch, however, Drake was advised by Poatan himself to rethink who to invest his money in.

“I hope this time you bet on the right person”, wrote the champion to the rapper on social media.

Besides Israel adesanya, the “Drake Curse” has already affected other fighters such as Justin gaethje, Jorge masvidal and, most recently, Tommy Fury.

As every rule has its exceptions, however, the rapper recently profited from the victory of Jon Jones about Cyryl Gane No. UFC 285, in early March.

Probably under Drake's watchful eyes, Alex Poatán e Israel adesanya face each other in a rematch for the middleweight belt in the main fight of the UFC 287, on April 8, in Miami, in the United States.
