The most anticipated fight in women's MMA finally seems to have a date set to take place. The Strikeforce organization confirmed, last night, that the duel between the Brazilian Chris Cyborg and the american Gina Carano will take place in the edition of the show scheduled for August 15th.
The fight was expected to take place at EliteXC, but with the organization's bankruptcy the duel ended up being postponed until Strikeforce sought to sign the athletes. Cris had already debuted at the event when she knocked out Japanese Hitomi Akano, in April, while Gina has not fought since she beat Kelly Kobold, in a unanimous decision by the judges, at the now defunct EliteXC, in October 2008.
