About six months after the tough defeat to Jon Jones in a fight to unify the UFC heavyweight title (up to 120,2kg), Cyryl Gane put on a show again in the Octagon. Protagonist in UFC Paris, held this Saturday (2), the Frenchman shone in front of his fans and made the commitment against the dangerous Sergey Spivak. Precise, fast and forceful, the 'home athlete' settled the score against the Moldovan via technical knockout after a massacre in the second round.

In addition to returning to the winning path, Gane has more to celebrate. The positive result keeps the former interim champion in second place in the rankings and brings the athlete closer to a new opportunity to fight for the linear belt.

Easy prey for Ciryl, Spivak was unsuccessful in the most important commitment of his career. Seventh place in the category, the fighter, who showed little in the confrontation, had a sequence of three victories ended.

The fight began with the athletes exchanging jabs and low kicks in the center of the octagon. The heavyweights adopted caution when launching attacks to minimize a fatal knockout. Gane had more volume of strikes and attacked with low kicks and jabs. With two minutes gone, Spivak threw a cross that touched the former interim champion's face, but didn't shake the 'home athlete'. Afterwards, the Moldovan risked a fall, an action defended by the Frenchman. Gane led the action and Sergey began to receive clean blows to the face from his opponent. Spivak was timid in confrontation and was a fixed target for his opponent's attacks. Ciryl's jabs landed cleanly on the Moldovan's face, which was dominated for most of the fight. In the final minute, Gane confused his opponent with wide movement. The stage ended with two clean jabs applied by Gane.

In the second round, the first attacks came from the Frenchman, with a sequence of low kicks. Spivak tried to close the distance, looking for a takedown, but Ciryl was agile and dodged his opponent. Halfway through the stage, Gane started attacking the Moldovan's waistline. Sergey remained apathetic in the challenge and was unable to impose his pace. With two minutes remaining, Gane began to punish his opponent. Spivac received clean crosses to the head and was cornered against the bars. Almost in the final minute, the Frenchman was punished completely. Ciryl massacred the Moldovan, who was only protecting his head. Gane continued to strike until the referee stopped the fight.
