The first act of Alexandre pantoja as flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg) of Ultimate is confirmed. The Brazilian defends the category title against Brandon royval in the co-main event of UFC 296, on December 11th, in Las Vegas, in the United States. The information was confirmed by Dana White through advertisement on social media last Wednesday night (20).
This will be the second meeting between Alexandre pantoja e Brandon royval in the octagon. The two faced each other in August 2021, when the Brazilian emerged victorious with a rear-naked choke submission in the second round.

The victory over Brandon royval is part of a sequence of four triumphs won by Alexandre pantoja in the octagon, which culminated in the winning the flyweight belt against Brandon Moreno No. UFC 290, in July this year. On that occasion, the Brazilian overcame and dethroned the Mexican in a split decision by the judges after a five-round 'war'.
On the other side, Brandon royval recovered well from the defeat suffered against the Brazilian and achieved a sequence of victories over Rogerio Bontorin, Matt schnell and most recently Matheus Nicolau, to qualify for the title fight. The North American occupies fourth place in the flyweight rankings.
The title fight between Alexandre pantoja e Brandon Moreno will be the second most important fight in the UFC 296, last numbered card from 2023. In the main fight of the event, Leon edwards defends the welterweight title (up to 77,1kg) against Colby covington.
