Borrachinha attacks promoter and 'arranges' decisive fights for the middleweight in 2023: 'The fans want it'

Recovering from the injury that took him out of the long-awaited clash against Khamzat Shimaev No. UFC 294, Paulo borrachinha continues with a plan to face disaffection. On his social networks, the Brazilian attacked the promoter and suggested decisive clashes for the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg) in 2023. The athlete reinforces that he can still compete in the current season.

“Correct me if I'm wrong: people want to see the fight between Paulo borrachinha and the 'Chechen' (Chimaev), in addition to Dricus Du Plessis e Sean Strickland, in December. Let's go. Giving him (Khamzat) the title shot is very unpopular”, wrote the Brazilian, in his profile on Instagram.

A Brazilian standout in the middleweight division, Borrachinha would be an attraction in the UFC 294. An infection with staphylococcus bacteria, however, forced the Minas Gerais native to leave the clash against the Ultimate champion.

Without Paulo, Dana White and his team climbed Kamaru Usman as a last minute replacement. Under the affirmation that the winner would fight for the middleweight title next, Chimaev left the octagon with a positive result in the majority decision of the judges.
