Victim of Jon Jones in the light heavyweight title fight (up to 93kg.) in 2013, Chael Sonnen is not optimistic aboutrave injury suffered by former rival. In an interview with 'The Mac Life', the MMA veteran detailed the complication of the injury that forced the MMA legend to leave UFC 295. In this ocasion, 'Bones' would seek his first title defense as champion of the under-120,2kg category.

“Don’t forget they (Anti-Doping Agency) took away all your needles, good stuff. So it will be a tough recovery for him. He's a fighter who's been out for three years, who hasn't taken much care of himself. I wish him all the best. I don't want to kick him while he's on the ground. I'm being realistic. In the best case scenario, Jon Jones will be absent for eight months, will be 37 years old and will try to maintain a fight against a 42-year-old opponent (Stipe Miocic), declared Sonnen.

No UFC 295, Jones would step into the Octagon for the first time as heavyweight champion. Considered by many to be the best MMA fighter of all time, 'Bones' had postponed the commitment that could seal his departure from the sport.

With Jon's absence, Ultimate acted quickly and selected strong replacements. Still on November 11th, Sergei Pavlovich e Tom aspinall compete for the group's interim belt.
