Francis Ngannou, former UFC heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg), entered the top 10 of the WBC (World Boxing Council) world boxing rankings after his surprising debut in the ring.
The French-Cameroonian faced the current champion of the category, Tyson Fury, in October, in Saudi Arabia, and lost by split decision, but he showed a lot of determination and technique, even taking down the favorite in the fight.

Ngannou, who swapped the octagon for boxing gloves, was praised by WBC president, Mauricio Sulaiman, who announced that he would be ranked among the top ten in the division. The former UFC fighter appeared in tenth position in the weekly ranking update, released by the organization itself this Wednesday (15).

Ngannou's future in boxing
With this, Ngannou puts himself on a collision course with some of the biggest names in boxing today, such as Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and Arslanbek Makhmudov, who occupy the top positions in the rankings, behind Fury. The fighter has already expressed his interest in facing any of them in his next exhibition.
The former UFC heavyweight champion, who is 37 years old, has a record of 17 wins and three losses in MMA, 11 of which were victories by knockout. He then decided to switch to boxing, where he had one of the most exciting fights of the year against Fury, who has 34 wins, no losses and one draw in his career.
