Former interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg.) in Ultimate, Tony Ferguson will face a decisive commitment this Saturday (16). Featured in UFC 296, the veteran will face Paddy Pimblett and, according to former Ultimate star Alan Jouban, the challenge can represent a great opportunity for the athlete to avoid the dramatic moment. Today, 'Bicho Papão' is on a bitter streak of six defeats.

“This is the best fight that Tony Ferguson could have received. Who is the most 'beatable' fighter and a UFC sensation? AND Paddy Pimblett. He (Pimblett) has a lot of fans, he's a big name. He is the most famous within the category of 'beatable' athletes. In fact, I think he lost his last fight (against Jared gordon)”, said Jouban, in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.

Optimistic about Ferguson's challenge, Alan followed his reasoning.

“When I see the news, it seems like they are throwing a legend to the lions. Tony is a legend for everything he has done. However, I think that if they gave Tony to an athlete like jalin turner or a 'young bull', someone in his prime, you are, in fact, handing over a legend to the lions. It is not the case that Paddy Pimblett. He is a young man who is evolving. He has finishing skills, he's good on the ground, but he thinks that an opponent like Tony Ferguson, which is far from its peak, will be easily defeated. (…) If Tony wins, he will be the man. For all those who doubted, he will become a hero, instead of Paddy Pimblett”, ended.
