End of the line? Chael Sonnen predicts Colby Covington's retirement after UFC 296 loss

Former fighter says that North American may become frustrated and not recover in his career

Covington, who is 35 years old and has a record of 17 wins and three losses, did not comment on his plans after the setback. However, the former fighter and current UFC commentator, Chael Sonnen, cast doubt on the continuity of the controversial fighter's career.

“Colby's career is an enigma. He has had three world title fights and was interim champion. He woke up one day and wasn't interim champion. He fought the current ‘BMF’ champion, dominated him and never became ‘BMF’ champion. I think there are some real frustrations. I just don't know if he wants to start over. That's the hard truth. I don't know if we'll see Colby covington again,” said Sonnen in an interview with North American ESPN.

Covington is known for his provocations and controversial statements, which have earned him many enemies and criticism in the MMA world. Chaos, as he is known, has already insulted several fighters, countries and even the President of the United States, Joe Biden.

He also got involved in fights and confusion with other athletes, such as Jorge masvidal, Dustin poirier e Kamaru Usman. With the loss to Edwards, Colby moved away from title contention and saw his situation in the division become complicated.
