Opponents in the main fight of UFC 297, on January 17th, valid for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg), Sean Strickland e Dricus Du Plessis decided to speed things up a little and they actually came to blows in the seats of the T-Mobile Arena during the UFC 296, on December 16th. Despite the fight, there are no hard feelings between the athletes. At least that's what the challenger guarantees.

During his appearance on the podcast ‘The Coach and the Casual’, Du Plessis assured that he remained calm throughout the confusion with Sean Strickland and revealed that he was even having fun.

“I was completely calm. I didn't get angry. I was having fun and the security guard said I needed to calm down. I was already calm, I couldn't stay any longer. What did he want from me?” asked the challenger.

Despite being attacked by Strickland, Du Plessis ruled out any resentment towards his rival and even praised the champion for his stance.

“There are no hard feelings. I still have the greatest respect in the world for Sean Strickland. He is a real man. I said that and he showed it on UFC 296. I mean, he made sure and did what a real man does. He defended himself. Did he behave like a champion? Probably not. But at the end of the day, champions or not, we are fighters. We are not football players. We are not runners. We are fighters and that's what we do. It’s in our DNA”, he concluded.
