Last event on the 2023 Ultimate calendar, the UFC 296 divided fans' attention between the excellent fights that took place inside the Octagon and the brawl starring Sean Strickland e Dricus Du Plessis in the front rows of T-Mobile Arena. According to Gilbert Durinho, witness, the whole mess was premeditated by the middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg).
During his participation in the ‘JAXXON’ podcast, Durinho, who saw his own family to be supporting important part of the fight, with Strickland asking his wife and son to stay away before attacking Du Plessis, revealed that the middleweight champion had already warned him about the possibility of starting a disturbance during the event.

“They were my wife and my son. When Sean (Strickland) got to the arena, he kind of looked at the guy (Du Plessis). I think he’s already thought, ‘Man, what s***. You brought your wife and children’. I answered yes. He said, ‘Yeah, this f***ing guy is here. Maybe I’ll do something with this guy’. That was before the fight! When he arrived, he already had everything in mind. He warned me that if he was going to do something, he would let me know. When things started to escalate, the guy (Strickland) kind of looked at me and said it was time,” said the Brazilian.
Sean Strickland e Dricus Du Plessis face each other, this time officially, in the main fight of the UFC 297, on January 20th, in Toronto, Canada, for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg).
