Fighting protagonists in the stands, Sean Strickland e Dricus Du Plessis set fire to a rivalry that will be resolved on January 20th, at UFC 297. Satisfied with the situation, Niel Geyser, coach of the challenger for the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg), stated that the episode contributed positively for both athletes. On that occasion, the champion furiously attacked his rival after being provoked.
“I think the fight in the arena was interesting. I think it was, you know, probably planned on Strickland's side. It's just an opinion. To try to get back to Dricus or get under his skin. But I feel like in any fight, one of the big things you don't know is how someone feels, and that you only find out in the fight. And I think there was a good opportunity for both of them to get a sense of what they're up against. This could be a very positive position for us”, said the coach during an interview with 'Hack Check Podcast'.

The opportunity also generated awareness for the technician regarding the limit of Sean Strickland.
“It was interesting that Strickland became enraged so quickly and so easily,” he concluded.
