After announcing his retirement from the Octagon, Bryce Mitchell criticizes UFC medical protocol

The American featherweight did not spare criticism of the organization and complained about the care given to him after being brutally knocked out by Josh Emmett at UFC 296

After suffering a brutal knockout in UFC 296 and announce a temporary departure from the octagon, the featherweight (up to 65,7kg) Bryce mitchell the largest MMA organization in the world spared no criticism. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the American criticized Ultimate's medical protocol and said that he should have been removed from the arena as quickly as possible, which did not happen on December 16th.

“I was watching the fight to study. When I saw how bad the knockout was, I watched everything, I watched what they did to me afterwards and I was talking, shaking hands and staggering. Dude, they need to escort me out of there immediately. I really think this needs to be protocol, but because from my point of view, I can't remember anything. Let's say I get knocked out again, I'd rather they get me out of there as quickly as possible once I'm back on my feet. And I talk about holding myself under the armpits and not even talking to me. Just get me out of there as quickly as possible. (…) I'm glad they got me out of there, and that's how they need to do it, because fighters can trip, fall and hurt their heads even more,” said Mitchell.
