Brunno Hulk erases rival with devastating knockout and recovers from first career defeat at UFC Las Vegas 84

Brazilian promise in the middleweight (up to 83,9kg) of Ultimate, Bruno Hulk recovered from the first defeat of his career in style. Featured on the main card of UFC Las Vegas 84, held this Saturday (13), the Paraná native got the better of the dangerous challenge against phil hawes. Aggressive, the athlete obliterated his opponent with a brutal knockout in the first round.

With the victory, Hulk resumes his climb towards the top of the middleweight division. Now, the Brazilian has two positive results in three commitments at the company.

Fanatical about frank striking, Hawes once again paid the price for aggressiveness. The stumble against Brunno threatens the future of the fighter, who has now accumulated four setbacks in the last five challenges.

Hulk crushes!

The fight started with a tense atmosphere. The Brazilian walked backwards and waited for the best moment to attack. Hulk launched a high kick and then looked for a takedown, an action defended by his rival. With almost two minutes gone, Brunno managed a takedown and was trying to transition to a submission. Towards the final minute, the challenge was balanced, with both launching specific attacks. Almost at the end of the stage, Brunno rocked his opponent with a high kick. The American accused the attack and walked backwards in an attempt to recover. The Brazilian landed a clean right on his opponent's face, who fell unconscious.

Living legend of MMA, Jim Miller continues to win the battle against time. At 40 years old, the fighter stepped into the Octagon for his first challenge of 2024 and shone in front of Gabriel benitez. Inserted in the co-main fight, the veteran won via submission in the third round.

With the victory, Miller took the lead on the list of record holders for UFC victories, reaching his 26th triumph. In addition to this feat, the fighter added his 12th submission, surpassing Demian Maia and placing itself second only to Charles of the Bronx in the ‘top finishers’.

Acclaimed after the new positive result, the veteran made a special request. The athlete asked for a place in the UFC 300, which takes place on April 13th.

The fighter suggested Paul felder as a possible opponent.

In his biggest challenge in his career as a professional in MMA, mario bautista did not disappoint. Before Ricky simon, in a confrontation valid for a place in the top 15 bantamweights (up to 61,2kg.), the athlete had a convincing performance and won. After three rounds, the fighter was declared the winner with a unanimous decision by the judges.

With the victory, Bautista extends the good moment. Now, the fighter has six consecutive victories.

Frustrated by Mario, Simon must lose 13th place in the group. The fighter reached the milestone of two consecutive setbacks.

Andrei Arlovski loses third and gets complicated in UFC

Former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg.), Andrei Arlovski became complicated in the organization. At 44 years old, the veteran delivered a balanced confrontation, but didn't do enough to win Waldo Cortes-Acosta, in the opinion of the judges. After three rounds, the former title holder's rival was declared the winner in a unanimous decision.

With the stumble, Arlovski had the warning signal turned on in the company. The fighter had three setbacks and his future in the organization was threatened.

Even without shining, Acosta has something to celebrate. The triumph against Andrei marks the fourth victory in five challenges in the company.
