It's time for UFC 297, the first numbered Ultimate event in 2024, and with it the first chance at a belt for Brazil this year, with Mayra Sheetara. According to bookmakers, the chances are high.

Protagonist of the co-main fight of this Saturday's event (20), Sheetara enters with considerable favoritism to win the vacant bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg) against the North American Rachel Pennington.

Middleweight champion after dominating Israel adesanya in one of the great ‘zebras’ of last year, in September Sean Strickland seeks his first title defense in the UFC main fight and appears with odds of 1,90.

Challenging for the title, the South African Dricus Du Plessis arrives on the back of eight consecutive victories and has exactly the same odds as the champion.

In the first title fight of the night, Mayra Sheetara has considerable favoritism to become the new bantamweight champion. The Minas Gerais victory returns R$1,58 for each real wagered.

On the other side, the veteran Rachel Pennington has a second chance to win the title, but enters as an underdog, with odds of R$2,40.

On the preliminary card, the ‘Iron Lady’ from Pará Polyana viana seeks to recover from the defeat suffered against its compatriot Iasmin Lucindo in August last year, but enters as a 'zebra', with odds of R$3,40.

The Brazilian’s opponent, the Canadian ‘Savage’ Gillian robertson also comes from defeat, against Tabatha Ricci, but counts on favoritism, paying R$ 1,33.
