The day has arrived for the first belt fights of the 2024 Ultimate season. This Saturday (20), in Toronto, Canada, the UFC 297, an event that features 12 fights and two title fights. In the main fight, Sean Strickland faces Dricus Du Plessis for the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg) and in the second most important fight of the night, Mayra Sheetara e Rachel Pennington fight for the vacant reign at bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) after the retirement of Amanda nunes.

After shocking the world and crashing Israel adesanya in September 2023, Strickland continues the tradition of remaining very active in the octagon. At the UFC 297, the controversial North American fighter faces the South African Dricus Du Plessis who is going through a great moment and is undefeated in six fights in the biggest MMA organization in the world.

In the co-main fight, the Brazilian Mayra Sheetara and the veteran Rachel Pennington face each other for the vacant bantamweight belt, a throne that was Amanda nunes from 2016 to 2023 practically uninterruptedly.

In addition to Sheetara, Brazil will have two more representatives in the UFC 297. On the preliminary card, Polyana viana face Gillian robertson, While Priscila Pedrita will have ahead Jasmine Jasudavicius
