With an unstable trajectory in Ultimate, Robertson has reasons to celebrate. In her second appearance in the UFC in front of her fans, in Canada, the fighter recovered from her defeat against Tabatha Ricci in 2023.
Didn't see the color of the ball
The fight started with Robertson taking the initiative with a low kick. Polyana responded with a series of crosses. Afterwards, Gillian acted in a 'lightning' fashion, looking for the Brazilian's legs and taking her to the ground. On top, the Canadian looked for transitions. With almost two minutes gone, Robertson started to try a Kimura, but Polyana resisted. The advantage remained with Gillian, who remained in a dominant position, but was not effective in her actions. With two minutes left, Robertson landed a katagatame. The Brazilian tried hard and managed to escape the position, but the Canadian continued to press, this time, on the Tupiniquim's back. In the final seconds, Gillian tried an armbar and the Brazilian defended herself. Almost at the end of the stage, Viana escaped, but there was no more time.
In the second round, Polyana came back more aggressive. The Brazilian combined kicks and sequences of jabs, straight and crossed. Just like in the first round, Robertson took down the Brazilian with ease again. Once again, the Canadian pressed on top again. Halfway through the stage, Gillian was hurting the Tupiniquim with ground and pound attacks. Viana protected her face and had no chance of reacting. With two minutes left to finish the stage, Robertson continued aggressively. The Canadian continued to strike. Noticing the Brazilian's condition, the referee interrupted the confrontation.
