Canadian rapper Drake appears to have no luck in sports betting. Last Saturday (20/01), he bet big on the victory of Sean Strickland about Dricus du Plessis in the dispute for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg.) UFC 297, but it went wrong. The South African surprised and beat the North American by a split decision from the judges, frustrating the artist's plans.
Drake revealed that he had bet $700 (about R$3,5 million) on Strickland, through a story on his Instagram profile. The rapper also confirmed his presence at the Scotiabank Arena, in Toronto, his hometown, to watch the event live. However, he left there without the money and without the smile.

With Strickland's defeat, Drake missed out on winning just over 1,3 million dollars (R$6,4 million), as the odds for the North American's victory were 1.97 on the platform where he placed his bet. . This wasn't the first time the rapper made a mistake in the UFC.
Drake's reputation for cool feet isn't limited to MMA. He has already bet and lost on other sports, such as football and basketball. Some of his unlucky ones were Argentina, Barcelona and Golden State Warriors. Because of this, he has been the target of jokes and requests not to bet on certain athletes or teams.
