This Saturday night (10/02) was not the best for the Brazilian Bruna Brazil, who lost by unanimous decision of the judges to the Thai Loma Lookboonmee, in a fight on the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 86, held in Las Vegas (USA). The athlete in the strawweight division (up to 52,1kg) was unable to impose her striking game and was surpassed by her rival, who showed more volume and variety of strikes.

As a result, Bruna Brazil suffers his second defeat in three fights in the UFC, leaving him with a record of nine wins, four losses and one draw in his career. Already Loma Lookboonmee reaches his fifth victory in seven fights in the organization, totaling nine triumphs and three setbacks in professional MMA.

Bruna, who had a height and wingspan advantage, tried to keep her distance and land jabs and straight shots on Loma's face, but the Thai knew how to dodge and counterattack with low kicks, punches and elbows. At the end of the first round, Loma still took Bruna to the ground and was on top, but with no time to work.
In the second round, the Brazilian continued to seek the center of the octagon and put pressure on her opponent, but without much effectiveness. Loma, in turn, moved well and connected more blows, especially around the belt. The Thai also had the advantage in clinches, where she used her Muay Thai background to punish Bruna with knees and elbows.
In the third and final round, Bruna tried to change the strategy and went for grid play, seeking to nullify Loma's movement. The Brazilian managed a takedown in the final seconds, but was unable to take advantage of the position. The decision was in the hands of the judges, who unanimously gave the victory to Loma.
