Even with the end of the rivalry confirmed by the parties, Israel adesanya surprised by revealing an unusual story involving Alex Poatán. In an interview with the channel 'Theo Von', at the YouTube, the former UFC champion spoke about a scene that would have been carried out by the Brazilian star, in São Paulo, close to the last confrontation between them under kickboxing rules.
“I walked down the stairs and I’ll never forget it. I see him (Poatan) and two women. One of them looked around to see who was behind, and smiled. She was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life. I think they were prostitutes, because they were arriving at two in the morning. He was ordering takeout,” Adesanya said.

The scene described by Israel would have happened in 2017. During the season, the athletes fought a rematch under kickboxing rules, with the fight being won by Poatan, via knockout.
In the UFC, fighters shared the Octagon on two occasions. In the first, Alex overcame the Nigerian and, in the rematch, Israel managed to return the stumble from previous months.
