In his last fight, in October 2023, 'Daredevil' knocked out the American Andre Petroski in the first round, in his first middleweight fight. The decision to move up a division came from the fighter himself, after failing to make weight to fight the former challenger Stephen Thompson at welterweight.

Old or new Michel Pereira?

In an exclusive interview to SUPER FIGHTS, Pereira stated that he did not abandon his style, but simply adjusted to the circumstances of each fight. He said he still wants to do his somersaults and impress the fans, but always with intelligence and tactics.

“It has nothing to do with me changing. It's just that there are fights that can be done, there are fights that can't. How can I do something when it ended quickly in the last fight? I didn't have the opportunity, but whenever I have I'll do it. It's my style, my way of fighting. It's the same thing to talk to Anderson Silva stop fighting the way you used to fight. Every fight is a fight. Who knows, in this fight I can do my somersaults and do what I always wanted? But it depends on the moment,” he declared.
