After cancellation of rematch, UFC sets new date for Matheus Nicolau x Manel Kape

After all the controversy and cancellation of the rematch, Matheus Nicolau e Manel kape There is now a new date to face each other. According to the 'MMA Mania' website, the two flyweight standouts (up to 56,7kg) will face each other in the main fight of an event scheduled for April 27th, in Las Vegas (USA).

The first duel between Nicolau and Kape took place in March 2021 and ended with the Brazilian's victory in a split decision by the judges. The rematch would take place in January this year, however, the Angolan didn't make weight and had complications and the duel ended up being cancelled.

Number five in the flyweight rankings, Nicolau had been in a great moment since his return to Ultimate and was on the back of four consecutive victories, however, in his last commitment, the Brazilian was brutally knocked out by Brandon royval and lost the chance to compete for the category belt.

One position below Nicolau in the rankings, Kape recovered from the delicate moment he experienced in 2021 and arrives for the clash on the back of four consecutive victories, two of which were by knockout. If he beat Nicolau in January, Kape could have had the chance to fight for the belt, however, the Angolan didn't make weight and the duel ended up cancelled.
