The brutal knockout suffered against Anthony Joshua last Friday (8) could have been a blow for Francis Ngannou, but not enough to make the former champion give up his adventure in professional boxing.
Last Wednesday (13), Ngannou opened a live broadcast on his official 'Instagram' page and answered some questions from his followers. The Cameroonian stated that Renan Problem, PFL heavyweight champion, will indeed be his next opponent in MMA, but he ruled out ending his career in the noble art.

“I'm not done with boxing, I'm not done with MMA. Basically now I have an opponent in the PFL and it's Renan ferreira (Problem). He will be my future opponent in the PFL, but again, I have a lot of fights for the future. I can still combine both sports, I will still return to action. Just because I'm more comfortable in MMA doesn't mean I'm going to let boxing go. I'm still going to do both. It's part of what we do. We accept challenges. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We are working on it,” he stated.
Francis Ngannou He was UFC heavyweight champion between March 2021 and January 2023, when he left the organization after a long contractual dispute that mainly involved the fighter's desire to venture into professional boxing.
After leaving Ultimate, Ngannou signed a contract with the PFL, but has not yet debuted for the organization. Meanwhile, the Cameroonian has already donned boxing gloves on two occasions, with defeats to the multi-time world champion Tyson Fury and former world champion Anthony Joshua.
