Involved in bizarre episode in UFC Las Vegas 89, Andre Lima, the 'Mascot', vented about the anticlimactic outcome to his appointment. Victim of bite applied by his opponent, Igor Severino, the Brazilian pointed out his version of the challenge that took place last weekend. The athlete emerged victorious in the confrontation after his opponent was disqualified.
“I don’t know why (I received the bite). The fight was very good. I already expected it to be an aggressive opponent, who would come at me. It ended up that he gave me a fall. I, defending the fall, felt pain. I thought the grill had gone into my arm and I started screaming. Perhaps immaturity on his part. I don't know if he was afraid because it was my debut and his”, said Mascote, in an interview with 'Fight Pass'.

Even with the unusual outcome, André has reasons to celebrate. In addition to the triumph, the athlete, who received performance bonus, celebrated his debut in Ultimate.
“I am very happy to have made my debut and won in the biggest event in the world. I want to show much more. I hope I can fight soon, because I’m not hurt”, he concluded.
The positive result against Igor Severino extended Mascote's great phase. Undefeated in MMA, the flyweight (up to 56,7kg) now has eight consecutive victories in the sport.
