First Brazilian to enter the octagon in UFC 300, held this Saturday (13), in Las Vegas (USA), Deiveson Figueiredo won another victory in bantamweight (up to 61,2kg). Before cody garbrandt, former champion of the category, the 'God of War' was scared in the first round, but, with patience, he promoted a comeback. After dominating his opponent for much of the second stage, the man from Pará achieved victory with a rear naked choke.
In a new phase of his career, Figueiredo has his second positive result in the bantamweight division. Former flyweight champion, the athlete also defended his place in the top 10 of the category.

Former category leader, Garbrandt, who had moved away from a dramatic phase in his career, was once again surpassed. The North American accumulated two consecutive victories before facing the Brazilian.
In an interview still in the Octagon, Figueiredo did not hide his desire for his next appointment. On the microphone, the athlete asked for a title fight, today in possession of Sean O'Malley.
Brazilian turn-around
The fight started with Garbrandt taking the initiative with low kicks. Figueiredo managed the distance and waited for the best moment to attack. The Brazilian saved his attacks, while the North American scored with attacks on the Pará base. With a minute gone, Figueiredo received a direct hit from his opponent, but was unfazed. Almost in the final minute, Deiveson went to the canvas after another direct hit from Cody, but quickly got up. In the final seconds, Figueiredo attempted a takedown, but Garbrandt defended well.
In the second round, Garbrandt opted for a straight fight. Deiveson closed the distance and managed to get a takedown on his opponent. The Brazilian was looking for transitions for an eventual finish. With just over a minute left, Figueiredo managed to get to the back and started attacking with ground and pound. Cody got in front and Deiveson hit the katagatame. Garbrandt tried to resist, but the Brazilian pressed. The moment was dramatic for the North American, but the former bantamweight champion continued to resist. Halfway through the stage, Cody managed to get rid of the position, but the man from Pará continued to have an advantage. Mounted, Deiveson did not allow his opponent to stay on his feet. Near the final minute, Garbrandt tried to get up, but Deiveson managed to get to his back. The Brazilian secured the rear naked choke and, with pressure, forced his rival to tap at a disadvantage.
