Months after the drama of losing his father, Gabriel Braga kicks off a million-dollar tournament in PFL 3, this Friday

Months after the drama of having his father murdered, Gabriel Braga returns to competitions and leads the Brazilians in PFL 3 – 2024, which takes place this Friday (19), in Chicago (USA). Finalist in the featherweight (up to 65,7kg) tournament last year, the fighter is highlighted in the event that opens the regular season for his division and welterweight (up to 77,1kg). In total, the show has four Brazilian representatives.

Representative of the PFL since the beginning of 2023, Braga rises to the decagon to honor the legacy of his father and coach, Diego Braga, murdered in a community in Rio de Janeiro at the beginning of this year. In his first challenge after the family tragedy, the Rio native faces Justin Gonzales.

In the main fight, Andrei Koreshkov face the undefeated Magomed Umalatov. The fight will be contested at welterweight.

Also on the main card, there will be a confrontation between Brazilians. Former Bellator highlights, Goiti Yamauchi e Neiman Gracie face each other with an eye on a place in the next phase of the welterweight tournament.

The first Tupiniquim to climb the decagon will be Otto Rodrigues. A featherweight athlete, the fighter debuts in the PFL and faces off against Tyler Diamond.

In total, PFL 3 – 2024 has 12 scheduled fights. The tournament awards the big winner with a check for US$1 million (around R$5,7 million), in addition to the belt, at the end of the season.

Now, the Brazilian is trying to repeat the positive trajectory of last season and add, in addition to the category belt, the check for US$1 million.

Goiti Yamauchi x Neiman Gracie

The challenge between Goiti Yamauchi e Neiman Gracie promises to divide the Brazilian fans this Friday. The challenge, in addition to a confrontation between Tupiniquins, marks a meeting between two fighters in jiu-jitsu.

Together, the athletes have 30 submission victories in professional MMA. Bellator veterans, both make their first commitment to PFL gloves, following the merger between the organizations.
