Last Saturday (13), in the historic UFC 300, Amanda nunes reignited rivalry with Kayla harrison ao regret not being challenged by the ex-PFL judoka. However, in an interview with 'MMA Fighting', the North American said she did not understand the Brazilian's animosity towards her and said that everything was just 'a figment of her mind'.

“I think Amanda's worst enemy is her own mind. She got it into her head that I was coming after her. I think after she lost to Juliana, she thought I would enter the octagon to challenge her, which wasn't even close to true. She thought everyone on the team was against her. Again, not true. Everyone was doing their best to keep us in separate companies even though I wanted to go to the UFC. I think it affected her mind. She had a picture that wasn't true of what was happening behind the scenes. She didn't ask anyone, she just assumed and left. I don't think her criticisms of my team are fair or appropriate. I don't respect that and I take it personally, but other than that..” said Harrison.

Retired since June 2023, Amanda has already trained alongside Kayla harrison at American Top Team, the largest MMA gym in the world. However, in 2021, the Brazilian began to notice the North American's interest in migrating to the UFC and, avoiding giving 'ammunition' to a future enemy, she preferred to leave 'ATT' and found her own team.

New UFC signing, Harrison debuted in the organization on the preliminary card of UFC 300, held on Saturday night (13). With an exuberant performance, the judoka took no notice of the North American veteran and submitted her rival in the second round. Still in the octagon, Kayla expressed her goal of winning the bantamweight belt by the end of 2024 and challenged the current queen Raquel Penningtou or the former champion Julianna Pena.
