Looking to get back on track for the title, Marlon Vera demonstrated irritation with the posture of Petr yan regarding alleged offers for confrontation. Currently placed fourth in the bantamweight category (up to 61,2 kg.), the Ecuadorian believes that the winner could be close to a new fight for the division's belt, currently held by Sean O'Malley.
“In a perfect world, I want to fight in November, Madison Square Garden and I would like to fight Petr yan. It would be crazy for the fans, UFC. Now you have a former champion against a former title challenger, the winner will be in front of the belt”, declared Vera in an interview with Cameron Hanes.

As he continued speaking, 'Chito' accused the Russian of having denied the opportunity multiple times.
“He has already denied it once or twice. We saw each other in his last fight and he said he wanted me in the next one. I asked what he was trying to say, since he denied me twice and he replied that it wasn't a good time for him (at the time), so I told him to shut up”, he concluded.
Defeated in his last appearance, Marlon Vera hopes to return to the octagon soon. Events in New York are usually scheduled for November, where the stage is the grand Madison Square Garden. Despite the provocation, Petr yan has not yet commented on the matter.
