The boxing world was shaken last Wednesday (1st) by the news that Ryan Garcia tested positive for the banned substance ostarine in anti-doping tests carried out by VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association). The revelation, released by reporter Dan Rafael and confirmed by the American ESPN, calls into question the athlete's victory against Devin Haney in April.

Garcia, 25, vehemently denies having used any type of substance to improve his performance in the ring. The fighter, during promotion, even published messages with worrying tones, but revealed post-fight that it was all just a strategy to boost his name and publicize the fight.

The North American, who became an internet sensation with videos of his training and has almost 12 million followers on Instagram, already has 25 wins in his professional career and only one defeat. The fighter even has 20 wins on the fast track, with devastating knockouts.

Now, the future of “King Ryan” is uncertain. He has a period of ten days to request analysis of his reserve sample by VADA. If the result is confirmed, the boxer runs the risk of being punished with a fine, suspension and even having his victory over Haney annulled.
