Keeping an eye on the movement of lightweights (up to 70,3kg.) in the UFC, Daniel Cormier adopts an optimistic stance regarding the future of Justin gaethje in the division. Despite the tough knockout suffered by his compatriot in his last appearance, the commentator believes that the veteran is one victory away from gaining another opportunity to fight for the belt against the category's champion.

“I spoke to Poirier before his fight in UFC 299. I asked him what he thought about his position in the title race. He replied: 'I will always be one big win away from fighting for the title'. He went there, knocked him out Benoit Saint-Denis, Islam did not have an opponent and Poirier was chosen. I believe that Justin gaethje be in the same situation: Gaethje is one fight away from sharing the octagon with the champion, because he is popular, important and all the things he has achieved since arriving in the UFC”, declared Cormier on the program 'Good Guy/Bad Guy'.
