After three title fights in less than a year, Alexandre pantoja want to rest. After hitting Steve Erceg and defend his flyweight title (up to 56,7kg) in Rio de Janeiro, the category champion said he plans to rest until the end of 2024 and wait for the division to unfold in the coming months.

“Now I'm going to watch this category a little, I think it will be the first time that the champion can say that. Now is my time to see my opponents, see them facing each other, it's a really cool division that's going on. There's Erceg, Royval, amir albazi, Kai Kara France, Manel kape. I'm going to stay until December just watching these guys fight. Maybe in December I'll defend the belt again. I don't know if I'll be able to stay still for that long. When I say December, it's not like I'm going to stay until then and do nothing, I would already fight in December. But it's very tiring, there were 15 rounds in less than a year, 75 minutes inside the octagon against the best. There are already three title fights, I fought with a Mexican, an Australian and an American, I won them all. Very tough fights,” said Pantoja.
No UFC 301, held last Saturday (04), in Rio de Janeiro, Pantoja overcame a tough battle against the Australian Steve Erceg and won the match via unanimous decision by the judges. The triumph marked the Brazilian fighter's second defense of the flyweight belt.
