Record holder for knockouts in the organization's history, Derrick Lewis claimed yet another victim in the Octagon. In the main fight of UFC St. Louis, which took place this Saturday (11), the former heavyweight challenger (up to 120,2 kg) stopped the Brazilian's rise Rodrigo Zé Colmeia and knocked out his rival in the third round.
Twelfth in the heavyweight rankings, Lewis wins again after being defeated by Jailton Malhadinho in São Paulo and gets a breather in the organization. In 29 fights in the organization, the American won 19 victories and suffered 10 defeats.
Until then, supported by three consecutive victories, Rodrigo Zé Colmeia sees its rise in the category slowed down and could end up leaving the heavyweight rankings in the next update. Signed by Ultimate since 2020, the Brazilian won four matches, suffered two defeats and scored a no-contest wearing the organization's gloves.

With the massive support of the home crowd, Lewis began by delivering a high kick and pinning Rodrigo to the fence. However, the Brazilian preferred not to use too much force and ended the round by hitting the North American with ground and pound. In the first minute of the third half, Lewis landed a right cross that knocked Rodrigo down and with the Brazilian on the ground, it was easy for the veteran to hit his rival until the central referee interrupted.
