This Wednesday morning (29), Ultimate surprised by announcing the return of Nick Diaz to the octagon after almost three years of absence. However, longer than the North American's absence, is the veteran's winning streak, who has not emerged victorious from a match since October 2011, when he beat B.J. Penn in the unanimous decision of the judges.

In October 2011, Diaz debuted in the UFC with the morale of someone who arrived at the organization as Strikeforce welterweight champion, an event absorbed by Ultimate. In his debut with the company, Nick faced the former owner of the lightweight belt B.J. Penn and emerged victorious in the unanimous decision of the judges. This was Diaz's first and only triumph wearing the company's gloves.
With around 23 years of career, Nick Diaz he enjoyed his peak between 2008 and 2013, a period in which he won belts in EliteXC and Strikeforce and competed for the interim and linear UFC welterweight titles, but ended up defeated by Carlos Condit and Georges St-Pierre, respectively.
In 2015, Diaz was defeated by Anderson Silva in a duel that was later defined as 'no result' after the Brazilian was caught taking an anti-doping test. After that, the North American remained away from competition for six years, returning in September 2021 with a defeat to the former champion Robbie Lawler.
