Elizeu Capoeira is surpassed in a veteran fight and his undefeated streak is interrupted at UFC 302

Close to completing 10 years in the largest MMA organization in the world, Elizeu Capoeira didn't do well in UFC 302. In the fight that opened the main card of the event held this Saturday (1), in Newark (USA), the Brazilian was overcome in a clash of veterans against Randy Brown. After three rounds, the Jamaican was declared the winner with a unanimous decision by the judges.

With the defeat, Capoeira's streak of three unbeaten fights ended. The athlete has not lost since 2020.

On the other hand, Brown's good momentum increased. The athlete now has three positive results in a row.

Bitter taste

The fight began with the athletes studying each other in the center of the Octagon. Brown throws a cross, which goes empty. Randy had the upper hand in striking and scored with low kicks, jabs and straight shots. The Jamaican continues to be more aggressive and leading the actions. The Brazilian receives hard attacks and moves backwards after receiving crosses and direct shots. Capoeira tries a takedown afterwards, but Randy defends himself well. In the final seconds, Elizeu received a hard flying knee to the chin, but absorbed the attack well.

In the second round, Capoeira started better and shook his opponent with a cross. Elizeu got a takedown afterwards and was trying to get to the back. After insisting, Elizeu started looking for the rear naked choke. Halfway through the stage, the Brazilian secured the choke and began to apply pressure. Brown resisted, but the situation was dramatic. In the final seconds, Randy achieved an incredible comeback and completely reversed the situation, getting to the Brazilian's back and seeking the submission. The timer, however, has run out.

Athletes studied each other and exchanged blows in the center of the octagon. Capoeira launched a round kick that grazed the opponent's head. Randy started to provoke and talk to Elizeu in the middle of the confrontation. The Brazilian closes the distance and starts trying for the takedown. Capoeira presses the opponent against the bars. Athletes exchange positions on the bars. In the final seconds, Capoeira managed to get a takedown, but there was no more time.
