The victory over Alex Perez in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 93, last Saturday (15), may not have happened the way it Tatsuro Taira intended, as it came after an injury suffered by his rival, but it served to change the level of the Japanese promise in the organization and take him directly to the top 5 of the flyweight category (up to 56,7 kg).
In an update promoted in the early hours of this Tuesday (18), Tatsuro Taira went from 13th to fifth position in the category ranking, gaining eight positions. The 24-year-old Japanese left behind names like Matheus Nicolau, Steve Erceg, Muhammad Mokayev and obviously Alex Perez, on the way to the division's elite, where he appears behind only Kai Kara France, amir albazi, Brandon Moreno, Brandon royval and the champion Alexandre pantoja.
Defeated by the Japanese after suffering an apparently serious knee injury, Alex Perez failed to follow up on the victory achieved over Matheus Nicolau and suffered the fourth setback in five fights. Previously placed fifth, the North American lost his place in the top 5 and now occupies seventh place in the ranking.
