After a battle between Olympic medalists at Spaten Fight Night, Esquiva Falcão remains determined to maintain a rivalry against Hebert Conceição. Defeated in the judges' decision against his compatriot, the veteran guarantees that he respects him as an athlete, but discards any intention of becoming friends after being criticized by his family.
“I'm not friends with Hebert. A lot of people thought we were trying to sell the fight and no, I'm not his friend. I wasn't a friend before and I'm not now. It's not because he beat me that I'm going to become his friend. I respect him as an athlete, but I don't respect him as a person. He spoke badly about my family, he kept making things up,” Esquiva said at a press conference.

Despite the setback, the fighter is looking for the opportunity to rematch Hebert in the future.
“I think maybe there will be a rematch in the future. I want the rematch, I want to arrive for this fight more prepared. I think I have all the conditions to beat him, and show that in the ring I have more experience and that the victory is mine”, he concluded.
At 34 years old, Esquiva has two consecutive defeats in his last professional appearances. Seeking to return to the path of victory, the boxer lives with the expectation of having his request accepted by Hebert, in order to try to avenge the defeat he suffered in a duel valid for the Brazilian title of the noble art.
