Much awaited by fans, the first defense of the Ilia Topuria in featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) the date, place and opponent can be defined. According to Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani, the Georgian will put the title on the line against the former champion Max Holloway No. UFC 307, scheduled to take place in Utah, on October 6th.
The information was revealed by Helwani during the latest edition of the 'MMA Hour' podcast, last Monday (24).

The rivalry between the Spanish-Georgian and the Hawaiian intensified after the apotheotic victory of Max Holloway about Justin gaethje No. UFC 300. On that occasion, the former champion nominally challenged the current belt holder, who was present in the arena. Since then, the two have been exchanging barbs in interviews and publications on social networks.
The information provided by Ariel Helwani is in line with a recent statement by Brian ortega, former featherweight title challenger, who recently stated that the title fight between Topuria and Holloway had already been closed by the UFC.
“I think this fight between Ilia Topuria e Max Holloway will happen. I think the fight is already done. I heard they've already closed this fight. I could be wrong, but I usually don't make mistakes”, said the fighter to the 'Shak MMA' channel.
