Signed from Bellator earlier this year, Michael Page suffered his first loss in the Ultimate Fighting Championship octagon at the hands of Ian Garry , by unanimous decision at UFC 303. The Briton, however, wasn't particularly impressed with what he saw from the Irishman in the fight.
During a recent appearance on 'The MMA Hour', a podcast from the American website 'MMA Fighting', the 'MVP' stated that he doesn't believe Garry has a chance of becoming welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg) and pointed to champion Leon Edwards and Kazakh Shavkat Rakhmonov as capable of 'killing' the Irishman in the octagon.

“No, not at all (I don’t see Garry becoming champion). If that’s the game you’re going to play when you face a decent striker, then Leon Edwards is going to annihilate you the same way. Shavkat Rakhmonov is going to annihilate you the same way. There are some guys out there that I just don’t see him overcoming. He was a little more tactical and didn’t feel massively strong. I’m not trying to be disrespectful, because he did his job, he was smart. But, for me, this game is about fighting and not about stealing wins,” he pointed out.
With his victory over Michael Page , Ian Garry defended his seventh position in the welterweight rankings and also his undefeated career record. The Irishman has a professional record of 15 wins in 15 fights, the last eight of which were in the UFC.
