After more than a year, UFC commentator continues to regret Francis Ngannou's departure

Joe Rogan was happy with the Cameroonian's career in boxing, however, he stated that he would have preferred to see the 'Predator' continue in the organization

More than a year and a half later, the departure of Francis Ngannou of the UFC continues to resonate in the MMA community. In his podcast, Ultimate's main commentator, Joe Rogan, was happy with the former heavyweight champion's (up to 120,2kg) boxing endeavor, but made no secret of the fact that he would have preferred to see the Cameroonian's continued career in the organization.

“I'm happy he went (to boxing) and got paid really well, I'm happy he got all that money for the fight with Tyson Fury because everyone was writing him off. Dana White dismissed him and then he took down Tyson Fury and, in the eyes of many people, he won the fight. So he gets a big payday (to fight) (Anthony) Joshua, I'm happy he made a lot of money, but I wish he had made that money in the UFC,” Rogan said.

After being released from the UFC in early 2023, Francis Ngannou He managed to fulfill his dream of acting in the noble art and had two great fights in the sport. In his first match, in October 2023, the Cameroonian even knocked down the veteran Tyson Fury but ended up defeated in a split decision by the judges.

Less than five months later, Ngannou returned to the ring of the noble art less than five months later to face former champion Anthony Joshua. This time, the Cameroonian was largely dominated by his rival and ended up being knocked out in the second round.
