UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones was formally charged with two offenses related to the incident involving an anti-doping control agent, who filed a police report regarding the fighter's behavior during a surprise visit to his home to collect a sample on March 30.
The charges facing Jones are assault, classified as a misdemeanor, and interfering with communications, classified as a misdemeanor. The virtual hearing for bail analysis is scheduled for July 17th. The information was released by the North American website 'MMA Fighting'.
If convicted of both charges, Jon Jones You can face a prison sentence of up to one year, in addition to fines that can reach US$500 (approximately R$2.700) for aggression and US$1000 (approximately R$5.400) for interference.
Jones' most recent controversy involves agents from Drug Free Sport, the UFC's partner anti-doping agency, who were sent to the champion's home for a random sample. Agent Crystal Martinez stated that the fighter 'seemed agitated', threatened them with legal action and left her 'terrified' and 'afraid of being attacked'.
