Veteran leaves Poatan aside and says Aspinall has the style needed to beat Jones

Alexander Volkanovski highlights a series of qualities that the Englishman can take advantage of against the current heavyweight champion

Amidst the discussion about who would be the ideal athlete to overcome Jon Jones in the event of a confrontation, Alexander Volkanovsky demonstrated that he had a quick opinion on the subject. When analyzing the scenario, the Australian declared that Tom aspinall is one of the few to have the style to hit Jon Jones, despite not having achieved victory for the Englishman over the current heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg).

"I Think Tom aspinall is too good. But what I want to say is that compared to other fighters, I will always choose Tom aspinall. Because I believe he is as good as the Jon Jones, I want to see this fight. Jon Jones It's very good and maybe it can handle the heavy weight Tom aspinall. But if someone will defeat Jon Jones, is someone like Tom aspinall. He can really mix it up really quickly; it will be as fast as Jon Jones, you know what I mean, he is very good”, declared Volkanovski on his channel YouTube.

Scheduled to defend the interim heavyweight title this Saturday (27), Aspinall is preparing to face Curtis blaydes in a rematch at UFC 304. The champion's expectation is to triumph and gain the opportunity to unify the belts against the winner of Jones x Stipe Miocic, scheduled for November. So far, 'Bones' hasn't said whether he will retire after his next appearance.
