Known for accepting challenges at short notice, Alexander Volkanovsky surprised when commenting on the fight for the welterweight title (up to 77,1kg) scheduled for UFC 304, this Saturday (27). Despite operating in the featherweight (up to 65,7kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3kg) division, the Australian stated he was willing to replace Leon edwards ou Belal Muhammad | and stated that he believes he can provide work for the belt challenger.
"Never know. Would I go to welterweight? Heavy weight? Maybe, believe it or not, I would do it for the right payment. Leon edwards He's a good guy and people keep saying: 'go save the day, go save the day' (in case the fight falls through). He's a great fighter, so it would be difficult. This is not disrespect, Belal will be offended by this, I am not trying to offend, but this is a fact that I think I can do (fight Belal)”, declared Volkanovski in an interview with 'The McLife'.

When justifying his speech, Volkanovski reinforced that he is not belittling Belal and highlighted the American's style of play.
"Leon edwards, I believe he is good, he is good, very threatening in several areas. I'm not saying Belal isn't, but he's more strategic, a good fight plan, a calculator, they're complements. But you need more than that to defeat me. Going strategically with me can be very difficult,” he concluded.

Present in Manchester, England, Alexander Volkanovsky will be present at UFC 304 as a spectator. The event will feature Leon x Belal this Saturday (27th) with the welterweight belt up for grabs.
