The UFC welterweight division (up to 77kg) has a new champion. Belal Muhammad | imposed a takedown game, surprised Leon edwards, silenced England and became the new 'king' at UFC 304, an event held this Saturday (27). The duel was decided by unanimous decision of the judges.
With the result, Belal has the great acclaim of his career, he has reached ten consecutive victories and has a record of 24 positive results, three negative results and one fight without result.

Leon edwards, in turn, is unable to take advantage of the strength and support of the local fans and stops at the second title defense. The Englishman also has a streak of 12 victories in a series broken and updates his record to 22 victories, four setbacks and one fight without result.

The first round was marked by Muhammad's dominance. With precise takedowns and hard-hitting ground and pound strikes, the American controlled the actions and opened up an advantage on the scoreboard.
In the second round, history repeated itself. The American continued to pressure Edwards, who tried to react, but to no avail. An impressive fall, in which Leon fell head first into the Octagon, scared the crowd, but the Englishman managed to recover.
The third round was very balanced. Both fighters sought the submission, but the impeccable defense of both prevented the fight from being ended prematurely. In the fourth, Belal dominated again, connecting precise blows and controlling the pace of the fight.
In the end, the intensity increased, but Muhammad maintained control of the fight and secured victory by unanimous decision from the judges.
