In search of returning to the path of victories, Marlon Vera returns to the octagon after a tough defeat to Sean O'Malley in a duel for the bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg.). Climbed to face Deiveson Figueiredo this Saturday (03), the Ecuadorian recognizes the extreme need to change his style of play and promises to bring news to the confrontation against the Brazilian at UFC Abu Dhabi.

“Some adjustments in physical conditioning and greater mobility of my feet. I'm feeling really good. What I think personally is that, okay, I have a great grappling, but I'm not the fighter that wants to take you down and hold you back. This time we did a lot of grappling so I could go back to my roots. But I also want to put all my numbers together, instead of just looking for strength”, declared Vera in an interview with Michael Bisping.

When continuing with his speech, the fighter revealed that he will bet more on numbers than on strength.

“I know I hit hard and that sometimes leaves me in the mud. Because I have a great defense. But it's like I need to do something different. I didn't win the fight (for the title); I need to do something different. Maybe in this fight you will see me throw more (blows). Instead of just looking for that big hit, I’m going to do a little more,” he concluded.
