In the opinion of Umar Nurmagomedov, the main reason for Sean O'Malley to occupy the throne of the category would be the fact that the UFC gives the North American favorable matchups.
“We know that the UFC cares about him and gives him good marriages that don't involve grappling, that don't have good wrestling. I don't think he's a great champion. I don't know what happened to make Sterling lose to him. It's a big mystery to me. How did this happen?” asked Umar.
Before thinking about a possible duel against his rival Sean O'Malley, however, Umar Nurmagomedov knows he has a tough challenge ahead of him Cory Sandhagen and promises not to underestimate the North American.
“I’m not underestimating this guy. I know he's a tough fighter. I know he has good striking, good kicks and good movement, but I think I will find the keys to victory and beat him wherever the fight takes place”, he concluded.
