The Octagon, a stage for glory and overcoming, could not have prepared Ramon Taveras for the hardest fight of his life. Outside the ring, the UFC fighter faced the terror of an assassination attempt in his own city, Jacksonville, in the United States. The report was made on their social networks.
The night of the attack, which turned into a night of terror, was recorded by security cameras. In the images, it is possible to see the moment when armed criminals surprise Ramon and open fire while the fighter was heading to his car while at his mother's house. In an instinctive reaction, the fighter drew his weapon, reacted and put his life at risk for his defense.

Violence, however, is nothing new for Taveras. In 2019, his brother was brutally murdered in the same city, in a crime that shocked the community and left the fighter in mourning. Local authorities attribute both cases to disputes between gangs that terrorize the region.
Ramon Taveras participated in the 'Contender Series' and made his UFC debut in the 2024 season, with a victory over Serhiy Sidey No. UFC 297, in January. In his sports career, there are ten positive results and two negative results.
